How email works in Press Ranger
Press Ranger takes a unique approach to email by having you send directly from your own email account rather than through a centralized system. When you click to email a contact, Press Ranger generates a mailto:
link that opens in your default email client (Gmail, Outlook, etc.).
This means:
- Emails are sent from your email address, not ours. Press Ranger does not have access to what you send to the contacts in our databases.
- You are responsible for the volume and quality of your emails.
Setting up email in Press Ranger
Clicking an email address in Press Ranger or sending a mail template will open your current inbox. You can change the default program you use to send email by going to your Account Settings page:
Press Ranger currently supports:
- Gmail
- Outlook
- Office 365
- Computer default (works with any email client on your computer)
Why can’t I send mass emails in Press Ranger?
We do this for four main reasons:
- Better Deliverability: Emails sent from your own account have better deliverability rates than those sent through third-party platforms
- Inbox Protection: Your email reputation remains under your control
- Platform Health: Bad actors can't compromise the system's overall email deliverability
